Well-designed classrooms can improve a lot students’ learning progress.
When my students feel ownership of their classroom they feel more responsibility, and this has many positive implications for both the students’ learning abilities and the formation of their identities.
My Dream Classroom will support individualization by offering a variety of opportunities for different modes of learning, meaning flexibility of layout is also key.
As I am in a High School, we do not have lot of possibility to recreate the layout, but I will still manage to give as much as flexibility to my students to work individually in small group and all together.

- STUDENT DESK: each student will have a designated desk.
- TEACHER DESK: accessible to the students to have sometimes one-to-one conversation if the student needs individual support.
- LANGUAGE LAB : A dedicated space for foreign language learning where students access audio or audio-visual materials. It allows the teacher to listen to and manage student audio, which is delivered to individual students through headsets or in isolated 'sound booths.
- MY WHITEBOARD: A large whiteboard in the front for easy access during instruction where I will post my agenda, the morning routine as a reminder and have a space for instruction.
- I will have second large whiteboard for my FOCUS BOARD for the targeted goals. The students will see and have access to the learning goals and targets for the current lesson. I will also have a corner for them to assess themselves after each class period. I will post also information related to the topic: key vocabulary, proficiency learning target and students’ work…
- Lots of STORAGE! Adequate and accessible storage is important.
- MAKEUP WORKSTATION: A station will be in the corner back in the class so student who did not finish their homework. Or if they need concentration, they can use that station.
